power problems with N64

Hi all, im Andy and im new to the forum. I have a question that may seem a bit strange.

I have one N64 power pack that refuses to work on both my N64 consoles, and was wondering if its possible to wire a different kind of power supply to the n64 as ive lost faith in the original psu. Many thanks

That does seem a bit strange.

Well, you need at least 3 wires right? One in the range of 7-12VDC, one that is darn near EXACTLY 3.3VDC, and one for ground. Are you willing to open your n64 and solder?

Honestly I'd just recommend buying a new one. If you don't have modding experience and/or don't have spare electronics parts lying around, it's probably more trouble than it's worth. Aftermarket power supplies are like $10 online.
