because i do have an update i just forgot to post.

i have almost wired power but i had to use desoldering braid but it got stuck on the board yes i know it sounds funny but it did so any ideas on how to get it off?

Heat the braid up till the solder that's making it stick starts to melt; then pull it off.

ok so i have removed the braid and am soldering the final connection for power although i am a noob at soldering so i will post a picture if it won't power on and please tell me whats wrong if it happens.

ok so it didn't work. but there are three possible answers.

1. the RAM isn't heat sinked so it might not turn on because of that

2. the batteries are dead.

3. I accidentally flipped the on switch when i was trying to get a short out and could've fried the mobo.

Which is more likely to have made it not turn on?

2 and 3 are most likely. If your batteries are charged and you've tested them, get the short off the N64 and try again. If it's still not working, you may have fried it, but you should set it aside for a day or two and see if it will come back to life.

You should still have a heat sink on the RAM, though. If you've ran it for a long time without the heatsink it may have damaged it, but probably not.
