Case is ugly IMO, but is a good case I think.
Power supply is plenty powerful.
Hard drive is nothing special, nothing wrong with it but nothing special.
ASrock motherboards are flax. Buy a Gigabyte or ASUS. This one seems comparable.
The Radeon HD 6850s are brand new, and seem to be on par with GTX 460s in regards to performance. Your call, AMD or nVidia.
G.skill is a relative newcomer, but I've heard good things about it. 8GB is excessive, though. 4GB will do fine. Save some money or invest in faster parts.
AMD processors are slower overall than Intel's, but cheaper. Black Edition should be compared with i3 or i5, not Extreme Edition. In any case, gaming is GPU bound for the most part.

Also, seriously do something about that sig. It is *Can'tSayThisOnTV*ing huge.

Very much this. ASRock, PC Chips, and ECS motherboards are all rubbish. Stick with Asus, Acer, Gigabyte, or Intel motherboards.

Other than that it looks like a solid build. I personally wouldn't spend that much on a case, though.

edit: Yeah and that picture embed is friggin annoying when you put it on every post.

Caviar Green is slow. Don't go for it. Audigy SE is software based, kind of pointless for gaming. You'll want a DVD burner, too. 8GB of memory is good, but that stuff is slowwwww.

THX!!! btw my monitor has built in speakers so no need for them

Wow, man, you got ripped off majorly on that monitor. Mine has similar specs and cost $200 IIRC, now you can get them for around $100-$150. Built in speakers probably suck, btw.

Anyway, better now, but why the Antec Earthwatts PSU? You were probably better off with the Corsair. Case is fine, mobo is good, RAM is better, HDD is good. Why do you need a DVD rom and a DVD burner, though? Nothing wrong with it, but I'm curious. Also, for $1100 you could probably upgrade to a Radeon HD 6870.

no, the speakers are amazing and i got it half price off, so 150$

Approximate purchase date: next month
Budget range: 800-950(After rebate)

Any suggestions?

I wouldnt pay that muc for a case. Antec 300 FTW. And then I would go ahead and get A Velociraptor drive from Western Digital. 10k RPM is just better. And, as much money as you plan on spending, why not go with 2 graphics cards in SLI?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. ASRock motherboards suck. I know this from firsthand experience. Play it safe, go with a good brand name. ASUS and Gigabyte for sure, I've heard good things about MSI and EVGA but I can't say for certain.

Case is cheap but ugly, as for cooling it should be fine for a low-mid level gaming rig. I don't know a lot about Rosewill- I would go for a brand I know and trust better. This goes for case and PSU. That said, it's probably fine.

GTX 460 isn't as fast the new Radeon HD 6870s, which go for about the same. However, the performance difference isn't that big. On the other hand, CrossfireX motherboards are cheaper and more common than SLI ones.

Phenom II is fine, as fast as the same-priced Intel model. HDD is unremarkable. G.Skill is a pretty new brand of RAM, but from what I've heard, quite good.

Let me ask you something, though. Are you making logical, informed decisions about system configuration, or just picking parts that sound like they would be good?

As for SJ3's advice: The Antec 300 is a nice case. Velociraptors are fast but don't have a lot of space and are expensive- I would recommend one in addition to a large primary drive, only if you have the money. Two video cards may get you more performance cheaper, but one faster one is generally a better idea for upgradability.

Brand names to avoid: ASRock, PC Chips, ECS, and all cheap Chinese-sounding rubbish

I love mine. Beats the pants off the $20 case I built my old PC in. Plenty of ventilation, lots of space for drives (though long video cards may interfere with some hard drive slots), very nice build quality, the front has a dust filter (I also made one for teh side intake out of A/C filter foam) and it doesn't have all kinds of stupid ricer PC malarky. :awesome:

Yes. A good 7200 RPM hard drive with a large cache (WD Caviar Black, for example) will give you the best bang for your buck.

Two video cards may get you more performance cheaper, but one faster one is generally a better idea for upgradability.

Also yes. If you get a good motherboard now (one that supports two or more video cards at full speed), you can always get a second one of your GPU in a couple years and still be on top of things.

New mobo:ASUS M4A79XTD EVO AM3 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard

all other specs stay the same Kay?
And yes I am picking by looking at the specs, I am just not familiar with good motherboard brands.

P.S I am not changing case for 10$ just to have one fan slightly larger. Antec 300s have fans 2 on hardrives so a waste of one fan as I will only use one hardrive.

Having an extra fan is never a waste.

I have an Antec Nine Hundred with two big fans on the front. They're not strictly for cooling the hard drive (or drives -- the Nine Hundred can hold up to six). They're mainly to draw in cool outside air to keep ventilation high and keep the temperature of everything in the case lower. Cooling any hard drives you have installed is really just a bonus.

Go for the Three Hundred.

it isn't an extra fan though, it is just one slightly larger one with worse placement. it is better with one in the back, one on top, and one in front.

edit: mako321 got me looking in dual core phenom iis while at the same time i'm still not sure between gpus namely:

SAPPHIRE 100315L Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity)

and.....

ASUS ENGTX460 DirectCU/2DI/1GD5 GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
