LCD TV with sound but no image

I was given a 42 inch Toshiba Regza LCD TV that doesn't display picture. I checked out the inverter boards and found that each transformer was receiving 12 volts like it should. Is it possible that one of the transformers is bad and causing the whole backlight to not light up?

Do you get sound? If so, try inputting something that switches between light and dark video. With good lighting, you should be able to tell if the picture on the screen is changing and you'll know if its the backlight or something else.
