Dreamcast DD ain't workin

After sitting in my desk drawer for almost a year, I finally dusted off my Dreamcast and hooked it up to an old TV. One problem - the disk drive isn't reading anything! D: The disk will spin for about 10 seconds, then it'll just stop. Anyone know what's up?

ok put it open and turn the screw on the bck of the dd by the lazer always works

He has the right idea, but expressed it horribly.

The laser can wear out and become weaker. There are guides to tweaking the laser's pot to give it a little more power, look around and see if you can find one. Looking for how to make it read CD-RW disks might help.

But what's odd about this Dreamcast is that I got it brand new, sealed in box during Christmas '09. I played the thing only about 10 times, mostly for Half-Life Gold

I'm assuming you did clean the laser?

After mine sit in the closet for a while the dust builds up on the laser and it needs a good cleaning.

You probably did, but thought it worth mentioning.
