Amp/Speakers/Voltage

So I'm working on a portable with a rev c mobo, and my old portables I didn't bother to add a speaker as I was just learning the basics. If I uses this amp http://www.amazon.com/DROK-Amplifie..._sbs_23_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=01ZYGR4R3ZCAQRYB293R, would these speakers: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HFG7AG4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00 work with it?

Also, the amp needs 5v. I have this 5v regulator https://www.sparkfun.com/products/107 but I'm using a 14.8v battery pack and I'm worried it might give off too much heat. Is there a pin on the GC where I can draw 5v from? Thanks!

No, that is a 3 watt amplifier and it needs at least 3 watt speakers, or there will be distortion. 3 watt speakers are generally really big, and the ones you showed look like less than 1 watt.

The GC has a pretty hefty 5v supply. It comes from this pin, on the bottom side of the inductor:

. There are lots of other places to get it since the memory cards and controllers have it.

I'm using the same amp in my GCP. It's a PAM8403, and comes in all kinds of flavors. This is the one I'm using: http://www.dx.com/p/pam8403-dual-channe ... lue-216853.

Here's a bunch more: http://www.dx.com/s/pam8403

According to the data sheet, the PAM8403 can be powered by 2.5-5.5V. So You could always hook it up to the GC's 3.3V. Which is good for anyone not using 5V in their portable. Data sheet: http://datasheet.eeworld.com.cn/pdf/PAM ... 8403DR.pdf

As for speakers, I'm pairing the amp with these: http://www.digikey.ca/product-detail/en/0/102-1300-ND.
They are on the pricey side, but with just one hooked up, they are LOUD.

I had some distortion at max volume, so I used a voltage divider between the audio signal on the GC and the input on the amp to get it down to about 66%. With this setup it's still plenty loud, and sounds good as well.
