Broken buttons on PSP?

I'm trying to sell or mod my PSP, but for some reason the circle button isn't working. I took of the front cover and there did not appear to be any visual damage. I then took off the screen and there was a tear in one of those papery wire things (sorry guys, I don't actually know what they're called). Could this be affecting how the circle button works? And also, the problem is that the button will repeatedly press itself down and I can't get it to stop. This makes playing games impossible because its always doing the circle button command.

That plastic film with silver colored lines is where electricity flows. When it tore, the button was no longer connected to the main Motherboard. If you want to repair it, you will need some sand paper, soldering iron, solder and some small wires.
