wirelessly transmitting A/V signals

Could you, say, use the parts from a wavebird (without modifications i wouldnt know how to perform) to transmit audio and video signals?

If not, how do you guys usually do it?

No. A wavebird has nowhere near enough bandwidth to transmit audio, let alone video.

Theres several ways to accomplish wireless video. Techknott used baby monitors in his WVI's. You can also use Wireless AV transmitters
