Wiikey dont work properly

so at first some infos about it:

-The wiikey is flashed with swiss
-the sd card is fat32 with games on it
-the led flashes blue at beginning
-all the cables are inserted correctly
-all the wiring should be good
-pin 29 is bridged to ground(because i have swiss)
-pin 23 has no lid switch

so the problem is, that it says "please insert gamecube disc" like there is no game disc inserted

what i tested already:

-try a new sd
-clean the sd
-rewire pin 23
-add more ground to mobo
-add more 3.3v to mobo

would be cool if someone can help me :) i couldnt figure out

Make sure sd is inserted into the cube at start... Check Wii pin 23, make sure its going to the right GC pin... Add a normally open switch to pin 29... Did you flash swiss did mega?

The unit was premodded by me and then send to him. I flashed his Wiikey Fusion with swiss r296 and ground wired Pin 29. All was working when shipped and confirmed by him on arrival. He could access the swiss menu and see the test game I left on his sd card but after he added games to his sd card it stopped working for some reason. The region switch should be set to all on because of Pal board and given that it worked when shipped and on arrival the cables should be ok. Pin 23 is directly wired to the filtercap next to the other cables.

I tried troubleshooting the problem with him but he lives in Germany so I don’t have fisical access to his board. I don’t know what’s causing the problem, really wierd issue?!

filter cap?
what...where?

WKF/WASP/WODE pin23 should be wired directly to pin 12 on the GC mainboard
or also
pin 23 should be wired to a NC switch to pin12

how did you wire this?

Are these the supposed filter caps?

s wired to pin 7 on those filter caps. But this is for the lid switch right? But i dont need it with swiss. Just wire pin 23 to pin 12 and all is ok or i need a nc switch?

That's right. You don't need a switch unless you want to break the connection, as in "opening the lid" on a GC.

ok, should i just try to wire on a pin 29 switch on and start wiikey with the ecovery 1.2 iso? or do you know how to fix the problem without flashing it back to the normal firmware? the wiikey seems to work since there is blue light when it starts

Flashing the 1.2 recovery ISO would be a good idea, but there could still be some inconspicuous wiring issue that you can't see. If the recovery doesn't show up when you turn it on, it is most likely still a wiring issue.

wired pin 29 to a nc switch now and put 1.2 recovery with win32 disk imager. the recovery iso dont show up and when i press the switch it t´dont flash blue. the led only turns blue when i start the gc, it seems the nc switch isnt affecting anything so its something with the sd? it seems there is still swiss and recovery iso dont work

I believe the recovery ISO should appear without pressing the 29 switch. Maybe something's wrong with the SD card reader or maybe you didn't flash the recovery ISO correctly, but I really think it's a lot more likely you have a wire loose or shorting somewhere. That is the root of so many problems.

Psiduck it's better if you use Linux instead of windows. But there is a dd port for windows too. Anyways, you have to use a program like dd.exe for windows. But you have to be 1,000,000% that you have the right device then check again. Cause if you use it wrong say goodbye to what ever it wrote the info to

Well Win32 Disk Imager does work, unless your SD card is incompatible or something. I used it because I couldn't understand dd.exe and it worked fine.

guys i guess i figured out the problem. there was no continuity between pin 23 (ffc) and pin 23(filter cap) so i melt the glue and wired back on pin 23 on the ffc. so now the led is flashing blue the whole time and it dont stop. i formatted the sd card back to fat 32 and put some games into it. when i now start the gc the led is blue and when i go to the game selection it switches between read disc and insert disc. but slower as usually. something with the sd card reader? should i get a new one or clean the ffc with alcohol?

I would have to assume that you need to check your connections from the wiikey to the GPU vias. Only way to be 100% for sure what the issue is. You already found one, there could be several.
