Wii question. DDrive not working

i found this and it says that the dvd drive doesn't work do you thing that this could work with a ddrive replacement?

Of course, it will work with a DVD drive replacement. You should consider getting an older version Wii DVD drive, as they can read burnt discs with some soft modding.
