Wasp fusion red light

I installed a megadrive v5 onto my DOL CPU 30 gc and plugged in the wasp which came from badassconsoles so it has swiss on it. When I turn it on, both the red and blue leds light up and after a few seconds the blue light shuts off. It looks like this

and then turns to this

I originally thought that this problem had to do with my SD card so I rewired it like this

I later realized that the wasp lights up both lights regardless of whether i have an SD card in or not.
Also, sometimes for no reason the wasp will only light up the blue led when I turn it on but I have no idea what is causing that.
When I plug the gamecube into video while the wasp is lighting up the red and blue leds, it gives the red disk drive error before it loads up to the main menu.
This is how I have the megadrive set up

Maybe you mixed up the FFC for the SD slot with a Wiikey's if you happen to have one close by. Probably not though. If you have a Wii you should test it on that.
Other than that I can only assume it's your wiring or the FFC isn't seated properly.

I don't have a wiikey fcc so no i couldnt have mixed them up. The sd is formatted to fat32 so I guess ill try it on a wii to see if its my gamecube wiring.

I know this may sound tedious but use a multimeter to verify connections from the gc mobo and the back side of the fcc connector. Then verify that there is no continuity between pins. Mine flashed ble then turned red because pin 28 and 27 were touching.

Im pretty sure the problem is with the sd card slot. Do any of you guys know where I could purchase a new one? I dont want to drop 25 $ on a new wasp fusion.

Turns out the problem isn't with my wasp or sd because it works with my Wii. I tried rewiring my GameCube to the megadrive but I still get the same error. I double checked my wiring and sd format. Even though I have a dol cpu 30 is it possible for there to be a compatibility issue?

Did you make sure it is not the actual ffc cable shorting out on any stray pins? May be a silly question but mine was on the memcard slot ground mount. But it was just causing the wasp to think they region switches were incorrect.

Edit: did you use the same ffc cable when testing it on the wii?
Edit 2: I don't think its a comparability issue, just last week I put a wasp on a cpu30.

Ok. Im pretty sure i found out the problem. The ffc cable i was using is not the one I originally got with the wasp. I lost that one so I bought a new one from digikey. Turns out, the one I bought from digikey is reversed so pin 1 was connected to where pin 32 should be and so on so forth. I'm gonna buy a new ffc and make sure it's compatible with the wasp. Hopefully it should work then
