The thread of music, be it modded, retro, or normal.

Reviving this thread because I wasn't sure if we had an official music thread or not -- and if it's not official, it is now. >_>

I bought some new CDs today. I went to Best Buy and picked up the deluxe edition of Hurley (it was only $10, too, probably a promotional thing), and I also bought a B-52s greatest hits album -- someone was playing Rock Lobster over HLDJ in TF2 the other night and I liked it, so I looked it up on YouTube, liked it even more, listened to some more of their songs, and decided I'd look for a greatest hits album since I'd be buying Hurley today anyways.

Hurley was pretty good -- I want to reserve final judgement on it until I've listened to it a second time in its entirety, though. I also now want to check out more of the B-52s' stuff. :D

The best video game music imo is Ozar Midrashim... the theme to Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (and one of my favorite games of all time ;)

Followed closely by TES III: Morrowind theme. This a kewl 8-Bit version I found on youtube =D

For actual bands? Can't go wrong with Godsmack. They are probably my all time favorite band... one of the few I can listen to in any mood.

Well, I'm going to swallow my pride right now and say this:

Hurley was pretty good. Green Album-tier, definitely.

See, I knew you wouldn't completely judge it without listening to it first. I'm proud of you. :awesomeTW:

I only act like a complete elitist when it comes to music.
I'm actually very very open to pretty much everything.

In the music department, Ive cleared the 1k mark on callista and kept right on going. Ive also been listening to Lots of William Steinberg.

Sounds best on piano:

Youtube doesn't do it justice, but here it is anyway:

It sounds even better than I remember it:

The GBA version is the best, but I could only find this one, which is almost as good:

And yeah, all video game music. Kill me.

Well, thankfully, I found the missing first disc of my Mom's Queen's Greatest Hits album, which is the one I wanted to listen to. Ripped it to my hard drive -- I like it a lot!

Also, my B-52s CDs finally came in the mail today. Both are awesome. I think I like "The B-52's" a bit better than "Wild Planet", though, but I haven't listened to either a whole lot. Glad I bought them. :D
