Resistor for Front Lighting a Gameboy Color

Well, I have 1/4 watt 1.5 ohm and a 1/2 watt 2.4K. I am very afraid something cataclysmic may happen, because I need .47 ohm resistors and don't know if using these puppies will fry the circuit board. Do I need the .47 or can it handle what I have. Many thanks beforehand. Trying to backlight this Gameboy color may turn it into fireworks when I turn it on. I just need to know if I have what it takes to stand up to the power pack energy of this task, I'm afraid I might break my baby. Thanks again.

Go read up on electronics and come back. If you can't tell by the values what's safe and what's not, you shouldn't be modding gameboys.

Both have a higher resistance. The 1.5 ohm will probably work, but it will be less bright. The 2.4K is just too Dang high.
