Question about switch

Just wondering how people are able to have a switch to switch on and off both the screen and console for a portable, thanks.

You have a battery connected to a console and a screen connected to the console for AV as well as power.
Just put a switch between the console and battery.

How would the screen be connected so it recieves power from the console and also what kind of switch should I get?

You connect the batteries like this to the switch and console/screen

As for a switch use a submini DPDT switch from radio shack.
