Quest for a better (cheaper) 5" screen alternative.

I simply refuse to believe that the PSone screen (which requires tons of modding to get the board small and to reduce amp draw) and the stupidly expensive Dalian screens ($100.00 shipped :/) are the ONLY decent 5" screens that are available to us. *Can'tSayThisOnTV*ing 4.3" and 3.5" screens are all over ebay for CHEAP! Where the Heck are all the good 4:3 5" screens!

So... I'm going on a quest to find some alternatives. Feel free to join me if you like.

Here's some possible candidates I've found so far, though most prices are not listed and it seems they want bulk orders on these:

The last one there I'm not sure if it includes the driver board. Anyone have experience with contacting these people to ask about smaller orders and to get pricing?

Its not much at this point, but its somewhere to start.
 
The Dalian 5" screen would be the perfect alternative if it was not for the CRAZY shipping cost. $70 for a awesome screen is doable. $100 is pushing it. Bummer :(
 
What needs to happen is somebody needs to buy many of the dalian screens. If you buy 10, its very affordable. And then you could resell for great justice. Everybody wins. I would do just that if I didnt already have several projects going.
 
Woah. Forget what I said. They drastically changed their pricing structure. It no longer combines shipping and it doesnt drop the price by quantity nearly as much. It used to be like $30 per peice if you bought 25. Nots its $59 plus individual shipping, meaning about $1800 for $25. :neutral2:
 
 
So far that is the only one of those people that has e-mailed me back. 75$ per screen. western union or bank transfer payment only.
