So incase my dvd lcd doesnt work , i will get a ps1 lcd, what is the bare min i can do for wiring? I've seen all these complicatedish pinout diagrams, i see the a/v out port which will cover the video , how to i power it , does it come with a cable to power it or do i need to do that?

It depends on what you are hooking things up to. If it is the psone, you don't have to wire a Dang thing. 
anything else, you will need at the very least an av ground, left (mono, the white jack) audio, composite video, power, and power's associated ground.
