N64 laptop

The screen powers on and says no input. I have the composite video out from the n64 wired to the composite video in on the monitor. All the grounds are connected. It must be something to do with the way it switches video modes. I'll try testing the screen out with an old dvd player.

I just don't get it :/ tried testing it with an old dvd player and nothing. Starting to feel hopeless with this monitor might just have to get a different one.

Does anyone know what the green wire in this picture is labeled? I cant read it and it might have something to do with why my video isn't working. This is the cable the vga, 2 composite video and dc power come through.

Looks like it might say reverse. It might be to automatically turn on the screen/change inputs when its used with a back up camera in a car.
Your screen is at least displaying something, so that is a good sign. I would keep working at it, there's probably something simple that you've overlooked. Have you tried both inputs?

Now that the screen is working its time for the audio! My screen supports mono sound so I may just use that and then have a stereo audio out jack as well as video out. Can stereo sound (left and right) come out one speaker? After this it will be time to put it all in a nice case. I may construct a wooden hinged case for this project.

Is there anyone from the forums who does case commissions? I would love a nice clam shell type case made if I can find someone to do it.

Wired up some rca jacks for the screens video and audio. Also put in a dc power jack. Heres some pictures of the internals and the jacks mounted to the screens case.

Got lots of work done on the project. Here's some pictures of what I've got done. I used PL Premium construction adhesive to mount the monitor into the case which I sanded down before gluing. Also drilled some holes in the n64 case for the RCA jacks and DC supply jack for the screen.
