n00b starting with a GBC

Hey, I am starting my first portable with a GBC(yes, I know it's not preferred, but I have modded some basic things, and have built my own computer, so I don't feel it to be so hard) and I have some questions:
1) Is the PSX Screen really the best choice for a screen?
2) Would a 5.3" drive bay(like a hard drive case) be enough to fit the items?
3) Is it easier for a n00b to include the ODD(optical disk drive) on the portable?
4) Any compliant guides, tutorials, or manuals to help me when I need it?
Thanks for helping a n00b ;)

First of all, im assuming that you are referring to a GC or GameCube; not a GBC (Game Boy Color). With that said, if you are going to be building a GC portable, I'd read some of the threads from the megasticky (viewtopic.php?f=36&t=793) and especially look into "How to wire..." and "Using a..." threads because they contain the necessary information needed to build a portable! Good luck!

As far as screens go, there are a ton of people whomuse and have guides for the PsOne screen but its.s not the only choice. If you prefer widescreen I would recommend a 4.3'' rearview TFT screen. You can find them readily avialable and affordable on ebay, dealextreme.com and the like. The size of the screen can greatly influence the size of your portable so keep thar in mind when choosing your size.
