Hi, right now I am looking for a laptop and microsoft is doing a deal that you get a free xbox 360 with certain laptops for students. I have no clue what mine is and my ID does not work, so if one of you would like to just let me use yours, I'd be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

oh wow, what? I'm just asking for the email address so I can see the deals. I'm not using it purchase anything. It's not like I am ask for the password.

I was rather disappointed when I saw the offers as well. It'd be a LOT nicer if they added some promotion that would apply to Win7 installs or something. Much more useful.

Sometimes you can buy decent laptops through your college. The one I worked at had a deal with Dell where you got the laptop about 10% off sticker price with a 3 year bumper-to-bumper no-questions-asked warranty. :awesome: (The only warranty claim I ever saw them deny was when someone threw their laptop out a third story window.) Say what you want about Dell, but their corporate laptops are much nicer than the consumer-grade junk they sell at Best Buy.

If you had a Thinkpad, you wouldn't have to worry about a laptop thrown out of a third floor window
I will vouch for the quality of business/corporate Dell laptops.

He's lucky the magnesium case didn't start burning. Magnesuim BURNS. (Don't ask me how I know this.)

Those old T series were practically indestructible. :awesome:

Isn't that common knowledge? Why would anyone ask?
