gamecube portable worklog (the alpha cube)

If you're gonna get batteries get one's that are nice it's definitely worth it in the long run. :)

Cheers, Wes

double post! anyways i managed to find a cheap-ish audio amp at my dollar store so i wired that all up and my shipment of random crap came from tayda electronics so I should be good to go for a long burst of productivity.... this weekend. YESSSS! *fist pump*. I was thinking about these batteries when i get the money. also I know that they are big but I should be able to fit them in my case. What do you guys think? good buy? or not?

You'll need 2 for 7.4V. Those are suspiciously cheap, so beware of them being a scam/pain in ass/piece of flax. The size is actually pretty decent, so if you are okay with the slight risk, I say go for it! Remember a protection circuit for 7.4V and a smart charger.

dinkey little update here. I have now relocated the memorycard and 1 controller to the alt points provided by ashen.I hope to cut by board down by about 1.5 centimeters from the front. I also sanded the living crap out of my case and it was totally worth it. It feels like a perfectly smooth surface like a ps3 controller.

hey does anybody here know where i can find a pinout for the switching headphone jack i have? i saw one around here somewhere....
Also i've started to mount things on the case. like my power switch, and power in

EDIT: added some more info about the pictures.
okay so sorry about the lack of updates but I was really rushing to get it done...... I failed. But I do have a large update for you guys

this is the back with the left and right triggers glued in place. The hole is for the Z button.

I'm probably going to paint those speaker grills over tonight and make it look pretty.

Loving the fan Placement, and props for making a gcp with disk drive ^^
but you could make that so much more apealing to the eye by sanding it for half an hour and painting..

okay so I was trying to fix the video interference last night but nothing was working... so I tried to put a pot on the line to deal with the interference but now nothing displays. I may also have shorted the video line on it's own shielding. I can get an image out of it if I take a different cable and touch it to the video in wire but this only works for a short time. I'll upload some pictures of my board today after school. but any suggestions ? do I have to recut a new mobo?

fix'd.... sometimes all you need is a good dose of motherly common sense..... (bad connection)

EDIT: also fixed all of my interference thanks to bud

just something to keep you guys posted. I managed to fry all of my controllers by having my regulator pinout upside down so they got 12v instead of 3.4v *sigh* Think I may have fried the audio lines to. I'm just gonna get a new cube and controller and start wiring again because right now it's a mess

Freaking hand cut that mofo out. With nothing but a drill and dremel.

Ok. I gotta admit that I don't like the middle of the controller but.....

Try wet sanding between coats of paint with 320 grit.

Edit: You could lightly sand that uneven part in the middle with a Dremel and sanding drum attachment. After that you could get it smooth by hand.

Yeah... I'll be finishing it this summer but it's unlikely any time sooner. What with exams and what not. I've almost finished the back, I still have to paint it but after that all I gotta do it mount everything.

Looks Great!!!! When you have done and put a video...

You got me an idea what i like! Portrait!!!!!!!!!!!! juasssssss This is awesome for untrim much the original controller.
