and here is a general overview of it all

Going to have to hold off on the batteries until I get some more money :( wall power it is but other then that started to do some case work nothing major.... except the time needed for every thing to dry *sigh*

okay so I think I may have deep fried my mobo... :( I removed both the debug port and the power port and now the dang thing won't turn on. I'll do some tests on the regulator tomarrow just to see if it's that but I dont think it is. I've been cleaning up the points but I haven't tested it yet. I gotta sleep.... I also extended the regulator by only 5 wires.... any tips? want to save it if I can but if not.... no big deal

deep fried

... my mom accidentally deep fried a camera once. It escapes me how you can not be sure if you placed the mobo in the deep fryer whilst trying to make funnel cakes, though.

I would keep cleaning it up, and double check that you're putting all the wires where they should go. We (I.E. not me, but the people that actually do gamecube stuff) could also provide a bit more information on what could be wrong if you can manage clear pictures of your work. Look for a good light and a macro function on a camera. Does wonders.

i usually use a 35 watt chepo one from ratshack but this time i used a 45 watt.

EDIT: I took my jury rigged continuity tester to the board and came up with this

EDIT 2: also when i hooked the controller board up the orange LED turns on for half a second and then turns off

okay got a new cube and tried running it on 8 alkaline C cells but it doesn't turn on. The orange light on the controller board kinda turns on but it flickers and nothing shows up on my screen and the disk drive doesn't turn. It works perfectly on wall power and my battery tester says it's at 12 volts. I soldered the wires on to the plug board on the contacts directly under the actual plug but to no avail.

also a picture of my set up and the batteries

The batteries might have a low discharge rate; they can't put out enough amps for the cube as fast as it needs them.

I did a fair bit of case work and now have removed the bottom ports and one of the memory card slots. it's going to have a 251 block internal memory card due to the fact it was 3$ at ebgames/gamestop.I painted it to but it looks like crap... I might redo it but I might just not because it hits around -20C here on a good day. here's some pics

and now my paint job

yeah i'm definatly going to sand it down once i get the sand paper. I'm thinking 600 grit wet sand what do you guys think about that? Also i cut down the board on the back by about 1.5 cm. But whats an update without pictures? here's some

the batteries are in the works for later on when I get the money.... :( but until then it'll just be wall powered
