It looks pretty small : http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/MacBook-Air/598/1 and may recover the flipper, gekko and ram !

I don't see why you need the adhesive though? Screws work kind of well too... and there are already screw holes in the motherboard.

Screw holes that are virtually guaranteed not to line up with anything.

The cooling systems were designed for laptops with very different mounting patterns.
