Changing the GBC's case

Hey, I just started modding so I was going to start with a GBC. But is it possible to separate the buttons from the top part? And if so how do you do it? Thanks

It would be easiest to attach tact switches to the button contacts on the bottom, that way you can put the controls wherever you like. Do you need a visual?

Never mind, I decided for a first project it was kind of big, so I added two speakers into it, but then the wire broke so I got to wait till I get a sodding gun. But thanks anyways. Also any suggestions where to put the speakers? I'll get a pic soon.

I'm not trying to offend you or anything at all, but you may consider reading up a bit more on the whole electronics thing in general - to start off, you'll probably want a 15 Watt Soldering iron from Radioshack, which will run you about $11.

OK, thanks for the advice everyone, I picked up a 15 watt soldering iron, a vacuum, and some solder. I took out the original speaker and replaced it with my broken laptop's speaker.

Uh, if you had the original speaker hooked up, you might be able to tell the difference. However it seems to be a little louder and now when you have the Gameboy opened and on, the speaker does not rattle.
Also um, what size is the power LED in the Gameboy, cause I was thinking about changing the color, but all of my LEDs are too big.

Here are some pics of it, and thanks for the help.

Comparison, and yes it fits in the case. Sry they are so big

Ok, I took the original red power LED out and test a green one, which worked. So after I removed the solder so I could stick it on and re-solder it now the light will not turn on. But it is powering up because you can hear the volume. Any help would be appreciated.

wellll i have a GBC case because i forsure fried my gameboy color trying to fix the powrs switch.. so if u want a good condition yellow case i can send it to u if youre poor

It does, I cut some of the plastic away inside and I have already closed it up, and it fits.

And doesn't get in the way of the buttons?

But... the wires are overlapping the A and B buttons, and the original speaker covers the start and select buttons entirely!
