CGB Shell Switch Gone Wrong?

I decided to get into the modding scene (now I know that I'm not fitted for that) and decided to try and change the shell of a CGB (as a test to see if I could ever get to more advanced stuff). I fit everything in the new shell, and when I turned it on, the LCD showed a bunch of lines. Is it pretty much gone now? Is it possible to buy a Gameboy Color LCD seperately and attach it to my currently broken one? Or is there still hope for the screen?

You probably messed up the ribbon cable. If you can buy a CGB LCD w/ribbon cable then you're set. Honestly, I would have just taken the shell from the original Game Boy Color and paint it rather then getting a new case.

Ah, thank you for the info. However, it's not longer of use as the connector thing that connects the ribbon to the main board is partially destroyed

But thanks anyway! I'll get it right one day!
