My screen is working but my n64 is not.
when i put my multimeter on these connections on the n64 power board (6 and 4) im getting 15.9
I also get 2.0 on the led

My screen is lighting up perfectly, My N64 is not. I have not wired video/audio yet

Here are some more pictures

Thanks for any help
If there is anything i should test, let me know

I wired my batteries (Two 3.7's) to the pcb correctly but for some reason am still getting 15.9volts instead of 7.4volts

I think its broken so I may just buy a new one

Might be why N64 isn't working because if video isn't wired up then how do you know if it is working or not.

The light on the n64 can mean absolutely nothing in some cases; If it doesn't light up, it doesn't mean it's not working, *Disregard*, and sometimes the LED lights up and the whole board is fried. Don't use that as an indicator

N64's don't go into sleep mode. Power supplies do. Light not being means it's not getting power, meaning check your 3.3v line.

finally got my n64 to run off the batteries, but my soldering iron broke

Now I have to buy a new one.
Also, when I was wiring it up, smoke flew out two times from one of the chips on the 3.3 converter. should i get a new one even if it still works?

It is highly suggested that you get a new reg. Even though it may be working now, it will most likely fail in the near future or be more susceptible to voltage spikes, potentially frying your system. The very fact that you got smoke while fiddling with it tells me you were probably soldering to it with power on. NEVER NEVER NEVER do that. It is dangerous not only to your electronics, but to yourself. You could easily get a shock like that. Even though you're not working with very high voltages, the currents are high enough to do damage.

UPDATE: I was finally able to run my N64 and PS1 screen of of my batteries. :)

I also wired up video and audio but I am not getting anything. I am using controller wire (from Nes controller wire) which is around 10" long. I am going to try again but in the meantime, does anyone have an idea on why this might me happening?

Are you grounding it? Neglecting to ground something is a pretty simple mistake to make.

Its Working! Turns out the N64 itself I was using was the problem, so I hooked the screen up to a different one and it started working.

Thanks for your help guys :)

Everything is wired up and ready to go (except for a charger, which I have no idea how to do).

Once I get my case with mounted buttons from Noah7 I'll put it all together. Can someone give me some suggestions on how I should stack this is my N64 case? I was thinking Batteries, n64, controller board, and screen on top

Here's a picture

For a charger here And yeah, the stacking should work like that, as long as the batteries aren't stacked on the heatsink.
