AV Out for N64P?

Hello again,

Although I did not plan on it to begin with, I have decided that I would like for my N64P to have AV out capability. I searched the forum but cannot seem to find any info or diagrams on how to do this (which is strange because a ton of the portables I have seen online have it). Could any of you be willing to shed some light on this? It would be much appreciated! Thanks!

You can just relocate this port or wire up a female RCA jack to the composite pin.

Thank you Noah, but how could I relocate the port and add a switch that turns the portable screen off when switched to AV out? I really appreciate your time. I just want to get this figured out asap.

You could wire up a switch that will switch the output from the screen to the A/V out port. That's really the best way to explain it, assuming you know how to wire up a simple switch.

It would be easier to wire the video and audio signals in parallel and then add a switch for screen power. That way will you need only one switch instead of three (video, audio left, audio right) :)

you could go with the 3 way conduit although I prefer the standard 1/8th inch headphone jack style so you don't have 3 plugs. Or you could also use the original n64 port. As far as a switch goes, just wire the port in parallel with the screen/speakers and use a switch for the screen power (hopefully you are using a psone screen).
