I cant seem to get my head around the ground. I know it is = to negative.

So say my potentiometer has a ground, do I run a wire from that to the negative terminal on my batterys?

(The Flashback 2 doesnt have a metal ground strip running on the mobo like on the 2600, so thats where I'm coming from.)

If it is the potentiometer for volume, no. That will be connected only to your audio line, since you are using that JUST to control the strength of the audio signal.

It is. I got the pinouts for a 10k pot im using, one pin is Audio 1 in, one pin is Audio 1 out. Simple enough.

But, on the lm386 chip i got, theres two pins for grounds, so do I just wire that up to the negative on my batterys?

Yes, you want that to end up there, but there are lots of spots on the flashback board you can use. When you get it and open it up, you'll see that even though it doesn't have a solid strip around the edge, there are still plenty of places to connect ground. It will be easier and look neater if you keep all your grounds on the board and then have one wire to connect it to the negative battery terminal.

Ok i see. If i dont pick a spot on the board, couldnt I just use a strip of metal and connect all grounds to that, then one wire from the strip to the negative terminal?

(Im going to use a spot on the board, I was just wondering)

Yes, that would also work, as long as the ground on your board was one of the connections. IF you do ever do something like that, wrap it in electrical tape or something so that any metal doesn't touch something it shouldn't, and fry your stuff.
