My friend dropped off his 30 gb ipod video the other day for me to fix. It won't do anything without being plugged in and when it is, all you get is the battery charge symbol. That's it. It doesn't register on the computer and itunes doesn't come up or anything so I can't restore it. I can't even get the ipod to do anything while being plugged in (I have had ipod minis with junk batteries that you could use normally once plugged in to a power source).
Apart from the obviously dead battery, does anybody know what could be the problem? Or should I just offer him some cash to take it off his hands and just use the hd for something (of course unless that is the problem..)
