Another GCp - The GameCube Control

Re: Another GCp Worklog

Thanks for your compliments :)
I'm beggining at soldering :P

I will try to start searches for my case tomorrow to have more interesting pics :)

Someone know if we can convert .gcm into .iso ?

Re: Another GCp Worklog

Yea I tried to rename it but doesnt work.

I've some .iso that are "corrupted" (but work on dolphin)
I never saw .gcz for now.

Re: Another GCp Worklog

.gcz is compressed dolphin iso

gcm is and sceners gamecube name extension.

Just rename it to .iso it's the unique way.

Re: Another GCp Worklog

I'm on GNU/Linux. I don't have WBFS to pass iso to sd. (Need to copy games to SD for WKF?)
But i have a DVD LG and rawdump with wine.
Make's iso easyly and with .iso extension..

Re: Another GCp Worklog

I think that in fact my iso are good, but the program is not working very well...

I extracted the game in .gcz, and rename it into .iso like you said, but doesn't work at all.

I've 10 differents games, with some .iso, no one works.
Only the Wii games works.

Does anyone know a good program to put files into a WBFS SD ? :/

Re: Another GCp Worklog

You need to use WBFS manager 4.0 you are probably trying to add games with v3.0 which wont work.

Get 4.0 from the official wiikey site.

Re: Another GCp Worklog

Hum my wiikey is not launched everytime... strange...

EDIT: Ok, so now i've this error :

So my wiikey is seen :

Then it said this, I don't know why because i've 1 game and one update on it : (now it said correctly the update but the bug is here)
http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/1788/dsc0752rw.jpg
I select the update for example, it restart, and said :
http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/5818/dsc0753i.jpg
Its the "Can't load disc, please contact services etc..." error

When I press my switch the wiikey is loaded again, but no update is launching.
Don't know why it do that...

EDIT2 : MY BAD.
Games work, but not updates !

EDIT3 : Also, I have lot of freezes, and I must restart the whole gamecube :/
I don't know why... sometimes I've no freezes that allows me to play more than 15minutes, but sometimes right at the beginning of the intro, bam freeze :/
Any idea ?

Re: Another GCp Worklog

Little up.

I need some help, I've no sound but I did wire them :/

The strange thing is that I wired to my TV which had sound before I disassemble the Gamecube...

Re: Another GCp Worklog

If SSBM freezes there is a bad dump. Try another game.

You put the FAN on your cube? The posibilitiy of fried your mobo without fan is 90%
The wires of wiikey are long...for me...

Other thing is the sound... I have no idea. Sorry.

Very impressive worklog and good videos man :)

Almost wiikey run!!! hehe

Good Luck!

Re: Another GCp Worklog

Yea I tested some other games (but just one time) and it didn't froze, so I hope that it's the .iso, not the wiikey :)

The wires are long cause I just wanted to test for now. However I will maybe keep this wires, and fold them in place when it will be needed. They are quite thin :)

I didn't put a fan for some time (about 15min) and nothing special happened. Then I put the original fan on the rad :)
I will do something that almost everyone did, cut in the rad a place to put the fan ;)
It seems that it's okay.

One question about that, is the original fan good enough for a portable ? Or I must buy another fan ? The GC is safe with the fan ?

Re: Another GCp Worklog

I'm thinking if the stock fan is enough(and ugly and fat), every fan thick is enough.
I have some laptops dead and got the thickest fans for test. All works well.

It's enough if work well. You can use two fans(thick fans also).
One for extract hot air and one for extract out of case.
How? Tha's is your question. Each one as you want. :)

Re: Another GCp Worklog

Bump !

My Case Prototype : http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/84/prototypeud.jpg
I have some parts of that, but not all, I will see how I build this later :)
This is a prototype, so it can be heavily changed during the time.
The proportions are not respected, as the screen is much bigger than that. (or the controller is smaller, depending on the point of view)

So for my wiikey, all is good except as I said I doesn't have sound, and I have an error when the wiikey menu is shown : "get header err"
So instead of writing the game's name I have a "Mounting..."
But the game is working fine.
Anyone know why ?

Re: Another GCp Worklog

Yea I already looked at this.

But the thing I don't understand is that before disassembling my GC, it worked (without the little mod) so It's strange if with the mod it works :/

However, I'll try but I doubt it will work.

EDIT : Okay, I tested it : IT WORKS oO
But I need some explanations :X

Re: Another GCp Worklog

Nice!!!!
This forum have lot of information. You only need some skill and time.
All the rest is here.

Sometimes is confused, but reading slowly(very extra slowly for me hehehe) You can make the hottiest portable ever!!!

Seeya!

Up !
My first screen works again ! (In fact it always worked but i didnt know that :p)

So I need some help to know how to wire it...

Here are some fact :
I have 7 pins, divided on the board by 2 groups : 3 and 4
The first 3 are : One red (+), one black (-), one green (G).
The + is connected to the 12V of the GC, and the - to the ground. That allow the screen to turn on
Then, in the 4 other pins, I have a group of 3 (they are regrouped by a tape) :
One Red (1), one white (2), one black (3), and the last pin alone is white (W)
When my screen is powered : the screen is white
one GC ground to (3) : the screen is black
one GC ground to (3) and the composite to (G) : the screen sparkles white lines
GC ground to (2) : the screen is purple
GC ground to (2) plus the composite to (W) : the screen is more purple

That's all I've got :P
I know that my method is not good, and may kill the screen, but that was the only method I know.
If you have other methods to detect which pin do what, tell me :)

Try using only those two power lines and a composite line. Take the line and poke the other contacts when the screen is powered and see if you get any thing there.
