I'm using my 7.4V batteries and a 7805 regulator to power an NES. The NES didn't work the first time I turned it on so I checked the voltage coming out of the regulator to see if it was 5V.
It came out as 7.3 or so.
I tried another regulator; again it came out as 7.3-7.4.
Whats wrong?

Do you have it hooked up right?

With the pins facing you, the left one is Unregulated, middle is Ground, right is regulated.

are they used 7805's? WHen you pull to many amps tyhrough them they die and this has heppend to me a few times.

They have an automatic thermal shutdown mechanism. You have to heatsink them.

You mean getting more amperage by wiring them together, by having them piggybacked on each other?(connecting the same pins to each other, like v in to v in)

yah just wire it v in to v in to vin and v out to v out to v out and ground and they seem to work good i needed them for my portable n64 because i had to put 5v into a regulator that would increase the voltage to 10.8v to run the screen i was using
