Wiikey and IPL v1.0 - Region settings? (Swiss autoboot r216)

Hello! I finally got back into building my portable and I have run into a slight confusion.
A few members from another forum have informed me that when you use Swiss autoboot you must set your wiikey to PAL (on, on, on, on) instead of NTSC (off, on, on, on) even if your cube is NTSC.
However I've seen a few threads here stating you must use the same wiikey region setting as the cube that is being modded.

So what is the deal?

What is the correct region setting for a Swiss autoboot flashed Wiikey with a made in japan IPL v1.0 NTSC-USA gamecube?
It will be a portable cube, no disc drive

On a side note: is there any other guides on the soldering process for the wiikey? Or is this the only one? (GC forever link, not sure if I can post)

No, you should only set it to the region of the cube you're modding. Yours would be NTSC, off-on-on-on.

If you have NTSC-U, configure the region dip switches to USC
If you have NTSC-J, configure the region dip switches to Japan
If you have PAL, configure the region dip switches to EU

The WKF also has internal firmware settings accessed thru the official WKF menu.
Find and boot the WKF_10.dol I posted to enter into the original WKF menu (load DOL thru swiss)
For a portable, turn all firmware settings on.

If none of this makes sense, youtube

This is what I'm talking about.
I have a ntsc-u so it's off on on on.
But it will be a portable cube so on on on on?
To be clear I am replacing the DVD drive COMPLETELY. (Getting rid of it)

Edit: Watched the video.
I understand the internal settings part - my seller configured it for me and Swiss is flashed. However I still do not know what I need.. ONONONON or OFFONONON.
It will be a portable...

Edit: You were my seller @megalomaniac

Re: Wiikey and IPL v1.0 - Region settings? (Swiss autoboot r

yes, i sold it to you and the firmware settings are what they need to be for a portable...
no need to make any changes to the firmware settings unless you have made changes...

also, it doesnt matter if you have a portable or home console or anything else you want to do or build...adjust the region dip switches according to the mainboard version....PERIOD

...and you can go post that info where ever you read that previous misinformation that led to your confusion...
