Switch for A/C Power and Battery

How do I solder a switch using A/C wall power instead of my battery? My battery got a switch to turn it on and off. Is that enough?

This question's been asked several times.

Basically you need a smart charger that will provide enough amps to power the entire portable and charge the batteries at once. Most smart charges don't provide enough amps.

or this:

You don't need a second cable. You just need to build your power brick and charging brick in to the same enclosure, and then run 3 wires to your portable instead of just two. 8.4v Charge, 12v AC, GND.

personally, i used SS's diagram and two chargers with different jacks so you cannot physically put one charger type into the other, reducing the chances of frying your portable somehow

here is where you can see what I did for my wiring diagram:

hope that helps

Personally, I like to use 3 position slide switches. On-Off-On to be more precise. That way, one direction can be used for battery, and another for DC power.
