This is possibly the easiest thing you'll ever do, but you should do it anyway.

Inside your SNES's cart slot, there are two tabs towards the back made of plastic. These are the only things preventing you from inserting and playing Japanese Super Famicom games. Simply grab some pliers and snap those tabs out, and you have a region modded SNES. Sell on eBay to very stupid people for much money.

Yes, both systems are NTSC and compatible off the bat, as well as the controllers being slightly different on the SNES in terms of regional identification. The tabs are the only actual lockout, which is the reason the system seems more reliable than the NES (50% of NES boot issues are due to the lockout chips not making proper contact)
