would it be possible and/or practical to directly wire a speaker to the av port of the playstation 2
secondly instead of a speaker could i directly wire a headphone port to the av port.

2 why no hook up an amp to the av port and a headphone jack to the amp?

I'm not 100% sure but I don't see a problem with it
For my portable I used and amp wired to the av port.

It will probably play sound. However, you won't be able to adjust the volume, and it will likely be really quiet. Just use an amp.
