Overvolting Gamecube DD?

I would like to use a six volt battery for my gamecube, and would like to do the trick SS discovered by connecting the 5v and 12v lines. However, I'd like to power both lines with 6v. I know the 12v line would be fine, but I hopefully wouldn't fry my gamecube DD, would I?

Might, might not. Depends what the 5V line powers. If it's just motors it's fine. Logic chips+overvoltage=bad.
