Homemade Battery Chargers! Post Yours!

This is the first Li-Ion battery chargers I've made!
I'ts a really simple circuit without any security than that current falls close to zero when it's near fully charged.
Use at your own risk!

V1, super simple.

Vp1, With indicator led.
+ More security.

Kindly forgive my stupid, I've never worked with Li-ions, but this takes the place of that protection circuit?

No, you need to use a protection circuit.
This is just a charger.

It seems like you know a thing or two about li-ion chargers. How hard would it be to modify one of the batteryspace chargers to output at 3A, or modify your diagram. I'd like to learn how those chargers work. Couldn't you use that top charger on a portable that has Daft Mikes Low battery indicator modified (and integrated) to make it so it doesn't discharge to the extent that it needs a "tickle" charge?
