I finally got time to do another project.

I have always wanted to combine an N64 and a Gamecube. But how to do it?
Well I had a GameBoy Player laying around ....... would it work ?

Well let's rip it apart and see.

Hmm looks like it might work. :awesome:

But we need to trim it up a bit.

Now let's see if we can get some controller ports in there.

Now for the hard part , let's get that darn N64 in there ........... :ninj:

So now I had to do some re-working.

1. Add Ram HeatSinks
2. Trim the N64 main board.
3. Fold the cart slot.
4. Trim and fold the expansion pak.
5. Re-wire the controller ports.
6. Wire power.
7. Wire audio/video

Wow !!! I got it to fit. Now will it fit with an Everdrive 64 in there ????

YUP !!!!

Now let's get those wires out somehow :

GP11.JPG

1. Wire it up to the Gamecube power
2. Wire it up to the Gamecube Audio/Video
3. Add a switch to switch between the 2
4. Add a reset button
5. Add a power led.

FINISHED PRODUCT !!!!

Check out my video and tell me what you think

Very nice!
It's been a while since I've taken a GC apart, but would there be enough room in the bottom of a rev C GC to do this if the serial ports were removed?

You would need to remove all the ports, them cut out all the different plastic slots in the bottom of the Gamecube. . Then find a way to put all those bottom covers back on where you still have a bottom. Then you have all the screw posts that hold the Gamecube board that are in the way. ...... I don't see it happening.

I might've found something to do with my Retro Duo board if it still works...

Couldn't you remove the disc drive from the GC entirely and just have an SSD/SD+Modchip in there? That would create some more room.

That just gives you more room up top, not below. It would give you room but you would have to build a platform for the N64, then try to fit in the controller ports somewhere. You would have to work around the lid, reset, power switch.

It might work but it would require more effort than the Gameboy Player IMO.

Challenge accepted.
flax just got real.

ahsen trying this mod after hailrazer showed us, can't wait to see what he creates, it'll be gingivitus-inviting knowing ashen

also, awesome mod, hail :) clever idea to mod a GBA player and stick an N64 unit with an Everdrive64 chip in :)

hum, if this 2-system mod can somehow be made into a 2 system portable (don't know by who or how)
THAT WOULD ROCK BALLS :awesome:

this rocks too. im simply amazed.
GC/N64 one system with each a modchip filled with tons of games, Heck yeah :)

Now that I think about it, wouldn't a Wii Mini fit into a Gameboy Player too?

Without the disc drive, replaced by SD card, it would only be the main board you'd need to cram into it.

Yep, this mod is verified to be extremely useful in a group setting and incredibly awesome!!!
