Good book basic electric principles

Id really like to learn more about electronics, especially now that im really getting into modding, does anyone know of any good books i could pick up that would provide me with some better insight doing this type of stuff, something covering basic wiring etc.. ?

Probably the best book if you know nothing about electronics. Its a little kooky but its really good for understanding the basics. It explains everything in analogy so its really good for understanding electricity and circuits as a whole rather than being a quick guide for reading schematics etc.

Thanks a bunch! i know some, just enough to be dangerous basically, so im really wanting to expand what i know. In my career (aircraft mechanic for the past 9 years) ive always shyed away from the electrical side of the house. thanks again!
