GBA Backlit Mod Help

Hi,

You may have seen my other post about switching GBA LCD's with the SP. I have 2 of everything and so I got impatient with the first GBA board and I believe it is fried so I moved onto the next board I had.

If you look below, you should see that it appears everything is connected properly. And soldered in the correct places, but all I'm getting when I turn the handheld on is sound, but absolutely nothing on the screen.

My only guess(es) is that the adapter is broken, OR as you might know, typically the wire from the ribbon adapter goes from P1 to the top left prong of DA1. Well, the wire in this adapter (which came pre-soldered) is coming from PA2. I figure this has something to do with the switch (for adjusting dim to bright) that is also on the adapter.

After burning through a different adapter, probably 1 GBA board, and getting the wrong gauge solder and wire from RadioShack (didn't find this forum or the great 'beginners sticky' until after the fact), I'm just getting rather frustrated that I'm not seeing results when it should be a fairly easy modification.

Please, any help or advice you could give would be very much appreciated. If you have any questions for me, ask it and I'll try my best to answer back the best I can.

Again, much appreciated,

Spencer

First, Cut the excess of that stripped wire and solder it again... Too much exposed.

Try flexing the AGS101 LCDs ribbon cable.
Get anything from that?
