Gamecube Joystick drifting

Hey all, my right analog stick has drifting problems on the x axis. I am using a slightly trimmed, stock gamecube controller board with a relocated joystick pulled from a 3rd party gamecube microcon controller.

Never really had the problem this severe before. The controller board is pretty new.

Thoughts?

Honestly i would take a look at the stick itself. Could just be a bad stick, but also once i modded someones controller and when we pulled the trigger button it kept pulling the trigger button. Ended up being a ball of solder connecting 2 pins to cause it. so you could check there or sand a bit more.
