    Shank's Wii Super Thread

Re: Dyxlesci's Wii Super Thread Some of the boards I tested with just a disc drive connected also need the disc drive board to have the power cable attached to load games.

    Shank's Wii Super Thread

Re: Dyxlesci's Wii Super Thread Yea that's what I mean, it may be powering the usb device but no the 5v logic of the system. So I'll need to figure out where the power is being sent through.

    Shank's Wii Super Thread

Re: Dyxlesci's Wii Super Thread I have thought of trying that but I want to know more about the internal layers first before I start hooking up more voltages. I tried attaching 5v directly to the USB 5v pin but the fat system still didn't seem to mount. Honestly I didn't do that much testing...

    Shank's Wii Super Thread

Re: Dyxlesci's Wii Super Thread I got my new preheating station. I've succesfully removed and documented all of the power supply components on the front and back of the Wii motherboard rev4-A. The Wii still runs just fine on the 1.2v and 3.3v line. This knocks out over 150 components from...

    Shank's Wii Super Thread

Re: Dyxlesci's Wii Super Thread I got the Wii running on custom regulators. I used a PTH08080 for the 3.3v line, and a PTR08100 for the 1.2v line. I had to bump up the 1.2v line to 1.3v to account for the voltage drop under load. The Wii draws between 700-800mA from a 12v source in the...

    Contacting People for their Guides

Not really, a lot of work is already going into compiling everything into the stickies. This isn't limited to the moderators either, if you have a recommendation for the sticky, PM a mod.

    Contacting People for their Guides

I really don't see the intention of this. Your forum seems to have the same content as modretro. It seems as the only purpose this would have is drawing users to another forum for the same information and confusing people. If you just want to save the information for later use you can use...

Smaller third party expansion pak board?

The official one is the smallest you'll find. The third party ones actually just use 2 2mb chips and are twice the size so don't bother. A ram swap would be best because a jumper pay is the smallest. But if you have no desoldering experience this will be a challenge.

You didn't happen to take any pics of the case work before painting did you? We like the dirty bits here.

My WASP Fusion always gives me a disk read error.

Swiss does not support the wii, sorry. You have to use the stock firmware.

Charge n Play, Audio Amp, and low Battery indicator

Well the hijacking was kind of my fault, seeing all the pcb stuff come out lately I thought someone else might get this idea soon. I plan to do a full write up once it's 100% working. The regulators are just as efficient as the custom TI regulators and my board works down to 5v. The components...

How to cut your n64 down like a winrar!

Unfortunately a lot of pictures hosted by shockslayer were lost several months ago. But as for the n64 it's pretty easy to trim and you can get a good idea of how to trim it by looking at what other people have cut off and using a multimeter. But there's lots of information in the n64 mega sticky.

Charge n Play, Audio Amp, and low Battery indicator

It's actually called the Voltorb right now, it's got a little graphic in the back. Right now the problem is heat, it's needs a heatsink most likely due to it's size and thermal dissipation limitations. But yea I can change them up for different voltages and current ratings, the switching...

3D files of Gamecube stuff for 3D printing custom cases

Re: Major WIP: stencils for 3D modeling cases. You can always improve the thread later! How I draw them in a cad program is just two circles that are a height and length away from each other, and the two "bean" curves are just two more circles of a certain radius. Which are rather difficult to...
