I'm entering the race: SonyQrios µGC Worklog

Frequent Poster
It's been a long time since I've actually posted some progress here on ModRetro. However, I assure you that I have continued working on a portable. Weither or not it is the same as my UGC (Unnamed Game Cube) is a different matter.

Yes, that's right folks. I have entered the race to build the world's smallest GameCube portable! It will be about 10,000x cooler than my UGC because of the following reasons.

The µGC overview:

3.5" Screen
3DS analog sticks
SD Gecko
WiiKey (for SD loading)
OKW SoftCase LxWxH (3.6", 5.9", 1.3") -

Rumble (from a Wii remote)
and 92% epic

So, without further ado, please let me introduce the µGC (Micro Game Cube)

You may have noticed I'm calling it the µGC. That is only a working title, and it may be subject to change.

Yes, the 3DS sliders. I show them in the video which I'll put up soon.

Which size is it?

It's the SoftCase XL with no battery compartment and the XL spacer ring.

Re: The Worlds Smallest GameCube Portable: SonyQrios µGC Wor

No, as in, why read when you can look at pictures? :dah:

Internal batteries?

Re: The Worlds Smallest GameCube Portable: SonyQrios µGC Wor

I should try and make one in the large case.

Oh, okay. :p I was having a picture sizing problem earlier, so yeah. Internal batteries if I can fit the ones I have in mind. Battery life would be about an hour, which isn't too bad for their size.

I actually have an L case. That's what I originally thought I was going to use, but you can't even fit and N64 cartridge in it, so it's too small. However, if you want to try, I dare you. :D

Re: The Worlds Smallest GameCube Portable: SonyQrios µGC Wor

I actually ordered a free sample of XL and L quite a while ago. If it ever gets here I will.

Re: The Worlds Smallest GameCube Portable: SonyQrios µGC Wor

I'll just copy you and call it the µGC Lite. :dah:

Re: The Worlds Smallest GameCube Portable: SonyQrios µGC Wor

It is smaller in volume than the Fusion Micro... and it's shorter and thinner than the SLGC. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Video will be up in 15min.. dang upload speeds.

Re: The Worlds Smallest GameCube Portable: SonyQrios µGC Wor

Cool. Lotsa progress from the last time I saw it in person. :p

Re: The Worlds Smallest GameCube Portable: SonyQrios µGC Wor

What's the volume again? I want to compare it to the SLGCL/PGC/XGC's battery-less volume.

Re: The Worlds Smallest GameCube Portable: SonyQrios µGC Wor

Well, it's just under 28 cubic inches (27.3, or something like that). Post the volume of your cube too.
