FPGA Dev boards

Hey guys, I've been looking into getting a FPGA development/evaluation board to mess around with and probably use in college. I should be able to get student/academic pricing because I have a college email address already, which is sweet.

I was looking into getting an Altera DE2 board for $269, but I wanted to see if you guys had any other suggestions.

if you're going into Computer or Electrical Engineering, you may have to buy an FPGA for a lab class, anyways. You may want to look into that.
