wiikey fusion problem on gamecube DOL OO1 PAL

hello everyone, I need some help with my WKF please,

I have a GC PAL so compatible with WKF, my wiring is correct at 100%, I have use ashen guide for this, just I wirred all ground on a same point, I scratch a part of the WKF for ground and I solder it to a GND point on the GC MOBO, my problem is... I have the ''error'' message 5 sec after boot the GC, what can I do ?

Oh, and I don'y have the same tact switch, I use the reset switch of GC for the GC, is that affect it ?

And when I don't plug the SD card the WKF LED is red...

Based on your description, your wiring is not 100% correct.
Error at about 5 sec is due to GC not receiving proper data from WFK..
Also, with no sd card the WKF defaults to flatmode and is looking for a DVD drive. (Red LED)

So you think I should retry all my soldering ? ( I use also a FCC36 board)

hello Ashen, I have already rewired all my cable and have the same tact switch than your, but I have an other problem, when I push the GC open close switch I have a message error "can't read disc, switch off the system"... And when I push the tact switch WKF I have the blue LED, the WKF is working or not ? can you help me please ?

Sounds like you need to set your region dip switch.

Okay thank you, I have already on "ON" with all, I have take some picture to show you my problem.

This is my wiring, I'm sur it is correct, I have check many many time !

So, First I turn on my GC, everything is okay, then I push the GC open\close switch and I have this:

When I "open" my GC the error message go, it write "please insert disc"...

When I push the tact switch WKF (when GC is close) it write "reading disc" during 2sec and then I have the error message "can't read bla bla"...

Oh, and for wiring groud I scratch a little part of the WKF and directly wirred on GND GC.
Please help, I don't know what to do !

yes it looks like you have a long amount of wire first try to shorten the ribbon cable and if that doesn't work try to shorten both the ribbon cable and the wires

how do you expect that "ribbon cable" (aka FFC cable) to be shortened without cutting the cable then soldering it directly to the adapter or hoping its cut and shaved properly to make contact back into the FFC connector?
going thru all that trouble defeats the purpose of him using an adapter right??

Mega, if you go back on Rohan Loomis' posts you'll find that he is pretty useless. Ask him how much he wants to pay you to do a FCC to IDE mod. He is giving an awful lot of advice for someone who has never wired up a wiikey himself

manu.le.ouf: can't really tell because of the burry pic but is ground connected to all of the pins the WKF needs it? Also how thick are you wires? I found when wiring up my wiikey (ask Mega took more than one try for me) it was easyer to secure the FCC adapter with double sided tape to the GC board (somewhere where you don't need the contacts) to connect them up.

hello guys, so I was update my GC, I have solder shorter cable to my GC and formated my SD in WBFS, but nothing...
The same problem...
