Using a demultiplexer to switch controller inputs.

Basically, I'm making a multisystem. I want universal controllers for 3 systems. I have 20 inputs on the controller, and I want to be able to switch them all to each controller board. I'm thinking a demultiplexer is the best way to do this. Am I wrong? Are there any demuxes that are say, 5x 1:4, so I wouldn't need a bajillion to switch all 20 signals?

If all the controllers have an IC for controll the signals and all the bottons have a common ground you can switch the VCC for the controller IC of each controllers, right?

Yes, but the problem is when you have multiple controllers hooked up to one button, you get interference, apparently. Also, The PS2 has multiple data lines.

I mean this:

Separate controls:

Controls together:

(the three switchs are conected together)

When the nes is on it could interfer to the genesis but it will be off so it doest matter.

Just need to see the schematics of the controlls that you want to use.
