Yeah I agree with them both. Some kind of rules should be implemented, or it should go away. Themadhacker wouldn't shut up about some choice things.

I said some crap I shouldn't have but so did everybody involved in that. It's not worth anyone getting banned to talk about porn with game nerds. :lol:

I'm happy. I'll be staying out of the chatroom for awhile, or at least keeping my posts less explicit.
 
Honestly, I think the chat is a great place to relax and redirect all our silliness into. It'll even help the overall post quality around the forum as a result. There should be some type of boundary obviously that people shouldn't cross in relation to what they talk about, but it really isn't that hard to get help. If you have a simple question, all you have to do is ask it during a more quiet time when there are less people rather than at peak times when there's obviously going to be a lot of people talking about random things. You can also private message someone knowledgeable pretty easily to bypass any nonsense that's may be going on, and if that doesn't work (or if you have a bigger question), just make a thread.

I'm a mac user, and skype didn't work for me. My computer would open it, then quit immediately. :(
 
My 2 cents:

Swearing: should be allowed as the youngest member her is 12, so he's heard everything now, but try to keep your language not too extreme.

Sexual: I think some humor in this topic is just fine and adds to the conversation, but nothing like what we were talking about last night. I think it should be kept as a general rule of thumb that someone asks the other posters to change the subject from sexual content, they should automatically do so.

All in all I think maybe it should be kept as a moderate yourselves basis but some, let's say 'guidelines' like these should be implemented, and if a mod feels the conversation needs to change, he can change it.

Don't bring that up or say who it is, you are supposed to be 13 to register legally.

Anyhow, the main problem is that we cannot PROMISE moderation, as we will not always be on. In the meanwhile, we will figure out an official policy for chat room chats.
 
Is it me or has the chat room been kinda dead lately? The last couple times I've been on its either just me alone, or me with like 1 or 2 other people that are inactive.

(even during the same hours that it had quite a few people a couple days ago)
 
well it is a friday. People may actually better things to do with their lives on a friday than to hang around in a chatroom.

I noticed the same thing yesterday as well though. Maybe it was just bad timing on my part.
 
Yeah, Friday is slow, I guess. We have reliably had some long chats between 10-12 members at a time in the past few days, so no need to worry. ;)
