T-Berg's Cloud64 finished!

Re: T-Berg's 2nd Portable

I had a linear regulator and it refused to give me enough voltage when I put a significant amount of ma through it. I gave up and went with a pth

Re: T-Berg's 2nd Portable

Hm... you could be right. There is a reason they cost less than a dollar. T-Berg, try and get TI samples for now if you can.

Re: T-Berg's 2nd Portable

Thx for all the replys. I used a 08080 in the first one i built. And i have ordered some more. The only problem is that it worked once with the adjustable one. As i mentioned earlier the voltage drops to 2.4 as soon as i turn it on now. But if i take the expansion or jumper pack out it stays at 3.3 Im all confused now since i have *Can'tSayThisOnTV*ed too much around. Ill wait for the pth and test it again when it arrives. The first portable i built went so smooth. *Can'tSayThisOnTV*

Re: T-Berg's 2nd Portable

Then the reason why it isn't working is like I suggested before. The RAM is only active with either a jumper or exp pak. So your linear regulator can't handle the ma pull from the n64 so its voltage drops. You should be fine with a pth and it'll be more efficient :p

Re: T-Berg's 2nd Portable

Nice:) The pth cant arrive soon enough. What kind of capasitor was used for it to get 3.3?

Re: T-Berg's 2nd Portable

I'm not positive (lol. Get it? Positive?) But I think you need two caps. They will definitely be 100uf but I'm just not sure as to how many. And you will need a 2 or 2.2k resistor. If you go to the page where you ordered the chip, there will be a datasheet and it will tell you what you need for what voltage. It'll be a table on page 7 or so.

Re: T-Berg's 2nd Portable

Yep, 2k ohm resistor, and a 100 uf electrolytic capacitor. I used a 16v one, and it worked fine for me.

Re: T-Berg's Cloud64 or C64 :)

Its almost finished:) Some did say it was too much work... It was a lot of work but i think it turned out okay. And i thin ill call it the Cloud64 which shorted down reminds me of another old gaming system the C64 :)

Its just a mock up btw. And if someone else have used the name please notify me.

Re: T-Berg's Cloud64 or C64 :)

WOW! when I first saw this I thought it was gonna be crap. You did a Dang good job on that case. Can't wait to see more.

Also cloud64 isn't taken but cndowning almost took it but renamed his to nimbus64 (after the nimbus clouds).

Re: T-Berg's Cloud64 or C64 :)

Thx:) All the people who said it would never work just motivated me more:) Im just waiting for the pth now

Re: T-Berg's Cloud64 or C64 :)

Looks like the L64's little brother, if it ever had one.

Haha, almost! I was gonna call mine that, but then I renamed it to "The Nimbus64" But nice work here man! I like it!

Try to avoid quoting posts with multiple images, or at least remove the images from the quote.

What happened to the filter that removed these images from quotes?

Or is that only when you have the word filter turned on?
