This is my first portable project:) And i think it is the first n64p in norway. I am just missing the screen and sanding\painting. Its also a pal unit.
Everything works as i have tried it on my tv. It looks crappy for the moment but not utterly bad for a first project. I have also started building a ntsc unit so i can play
american games. What the **** do i have to do to insert some images here? http://pbckt.com/sZ.VJB

Ill use a 7 incher. http://www.mpx.no/k/ki.aspx?sku=306514 The first screen was a psone. But i forgot about the ntsc\pal compability issues. The second screen was a innovation psone screen but it had rgb and not composite which it clearly stated it was going to have. But i now have 2 screens for my next projects:)

Are you going to leave the L and R buttons on the front? Also, where is the Z button? I like the cart slot though.

I will keep the buttons on the front. They are handy positioned for my fav games DN64 and goldeneye. The Z button is underneath on the right side. Im pretty happy with the cart slot too:)
It doesnt weigh it down and i kept the closing lids so it looks great from the top.

Ewww, screen stretch! But other than that, I'd say it's a pretty good first portable. Not awesome, but not the usual piece of crap either. For your second one, you should region mod the N64 to play PAL and NTSC games. It's hard to do and not well documented, but if you get it right it's pretty much guaranteed to work. Or, just make a really small portable.

I'm curious about the Innovation screen though. Is it the same as the Logic 3 one?

Use the innovation screen with an RGB and PIF/region modded N64 and then you'll be able to play PAL and NTSC games. Make it so when you switch the PIF you switch the screen region too.
