Starfox cube (WIP) (side GCp project)

28/8/13

hay guys, i cut out and hotguled the GC Slot A/B for the case:

i then used a stepper bit to cut out the GC controller port for fitting the gc controller plug through!

and i drilled the areas for the two air vents for the wii system:

1)

2)

that's all for now, more soon..

A couple things, the wii gets hot, hot glue melts when it gets hot. So your case will fall apart after a few uses. So change to epoxy dude.

Um, nice tip. Thanx DuHasst0!
So, hot glue melts from heat, but epoxy cannot be melted by heat at all?

I'll add epoxy too. It should keep things from falling apart

The air vents will help. I hope. I added two. Maybe add more holes.

hay guys, lots of fun updates for the portable

1/9/13

i added epoxy to the case for extra security:

then i spray painted the wii faceplate, it looks great (removed the buttons and sprayed each part individually)

At first the Eject button got stuck when closing it in and wouldn't stimulate the eject function, :wtf: but then after reopening it and making sure it fits in properly, now it works fine

wii faceplate with SD card in slot (SDHC 4GB) :)

im really happy with how the color looks and how my case is going :) this GCP (wii) project is going well so far

3/9/13

today i finally received my 4.3 inch screen from amazon.com order:

it works great has the menu buttons and all. 12v power :)

it has a "zoom" feature for 16:9 or 4:3. (16:9 is better than 4:3 IMO)

starfox adventures game loading in swiss booter 0.3 (thanx emu_kidiid)

now, when i booted starfox adventures using the screen in swiss booter, the color is showing differently than normal, like reds were pink, green was blue ext, on my capture card it's fine, but on the screen the colors are off, why?

on neogama i used the game works fine with the right colours and all.

is it because the screen isn't nstc color compatible?

as the star fox disk is NTSC version.

more on the portable soon

hay guys, here are some diagrams i made for the star fox cube portable:

front side (screen + GC controller) & bottom side (airflow + power jack)

Left side (airflow gate) & right side (GC memory card Slots A & B)

and a checklist of what i have left to do for the portable:

5/9/13

hay guys,
yesterday i went to my local electronic store and got the wii + screen power adapter made by the shop owner (he solders electronics stuff)

and he soldered a plug to the wii power brick that has no ON/OFF switch like my ps2p did.

so, the wii gets power when the cable from the wii brick is plugged in, screen turns on when wii is turned on.

next i made the drawings/markings with black permeant marker by tracing the outlines of the objects to cutting the screen/gc controller and Headphone jack/volume numb parts on the case's top part:

and cutting it, done:

it wasn't that hard to do, since my marking were really well done. and i used these tools for the cuts:

1) the drill bit for the Headphone jack/Volume numb and three screw holes for the GC controller.
2) the pink disk bit for the screen and gc controller fitting.

using these three screws i'll mount the GC controller in the GC cutting i made before on the case top:

the screws will be fitted in the case top hl's and in the holes of the GC controller (in red circles)

that's all for now, more soon...
