I'm new here and i have been reading the megastickies and everything trying to learn about modding and i was wondering what the brown thing with the holes and wires are? Sorry if its something really obvious and i should know what it is...

Are you referring to the perfboard with the controls mounted on it?

I think the mini-one with 260 holes. What does that do? And the portable looks great!

It's essentially a small that you can print with just a .
EDITED FOR MORE DETAIL: The holes in at surrounded by little copper rings. You push the legs though the hole and solder them in place.It is then very easy to link more holes up to the one you just soldered to. Not to mention the obvious fact the a board gives more support and a better base then just wires and hotglue.
